The WalkFebruary 29, 2020
In Matthew 4, Jesus walked along the shoreline of the Sea of Galilee. He came to Simon Peter and Andrew and gave them this simple invitation: “Come, follow me.” A few steps later he called James and John to do the same. Sometime later he saw a tax collector named Matthew and said to him, “Follow me.” These followers became known as disciples - ones who follow, learn from, and emulate their master. They follow him, they walk with him … they accompany him on a journey of discovery. During Lent, we dive into five essential spiritual practices rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God, with The Walk, a new book by Adam Hamilton as our guide. We’re going to walk with Jesus to learn more about: Prayer and Worship, Studying Scripture, Serving Our Community, Living Generously, and Witnessing to Our Faith. Becoming a follower of Jesus is the joyful work of a lifetime and a daily pursuit of his ways. We walk forward with Jesus together! Our series begins on the weekend of February 29/March 1 and concludes the weekend of March 28/29.
