Re-Claim: A Wesleyan RevivalJanuary 2, 2021
What is there to say about 2020 that has not already been said? This certainly was a year that none of us will ever forget. So much loss! What if we were able to take back some of the things we feel were snatched from our lives? What if we could somehow make up for lost time? What if we were able to reclaim some of our loss? Our theme and focus for 2021 is Re-Claim: A Wesleyan Revival. While we know that we cannot go back in time to reclaim losses and bring them into the present, we can begin this year by resolving to reclaim our present and our future as best we can. This means having a daily mindset of focusing on the things that we can control, and not letting our past predict our today or tomorrow. Going back into the past is not an option, but learning and growing from it is a must! To that end, we will spend this year reclaiming our Wesleyan basics as well as basic Christian teaching and tenets through new sermon series and Bible studies. Recovering our Wesleyan heritage and recommitting ourselves to God and one another is how we best begin to reclaim that which we CAN recover. FUMC Burleson invites you to start the new year with us, as we explore our yearlong theme, Re-Claim: A Wesleyan Revival.
