| Children's Sunday
School |
The Children’s Ministry of First United Methodist Church is a place where faith,
imagination, and learning go hand in hand. Through creative, active,
age-appropriate, and Bible based experiences, children are guided and encouraged
to grow in their faith and become deeply committed followers of Jesus Christ.
We joyfully serve infants through 5th graders. Whether you’re a guest for the
first time or have been here for years, you will sense the excitement and feel
the love of Christ as you enter our doors. We are thrilled about all of the
great opportunities available for your kids here at FUMC Burleson. We look
forward to seeing you soon!

| Student Sunday School |
|
First United Methodist Church Burleson shares the belief that students are not
only the future of the church, but it’s present as well. In that vein, we desire
to engage students in discussion and dialogue on their ongoing journey of faith
development. Every Sunday morning all students currently enrolled in 6th -12th
grades are invited to join us in the Youth Room for the Sunday Morning
Conversation, an opportunity to engage and talk about current issues and themes
and how they relate to our faith. We use a video-based curriculum followed by
short dialogue/discussion regarding the topic or theme. . |

| Adult Sunday School |
|
The Adult Sunday School at FUMC Burleson seeks to promote and enable individual and relational growth
toward a full understanding and experience of God’s purposes for us as revealed
in Scripture and in Jesus Christ. Many classes are offered for persons in
varying ages and stages of life. Classes form a close bond as a community
within the church. The actual content and teaching style will vary from class
to class as all seek to further their study of the Bible.

“Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for
to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive
the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

"Jesus in the Gospels" About to Wrap-Up |
|
Our long term study of Jesus in the Gospels is wrapping up in June. This has
been a fascinating study of Jesus. The gospel writers have witnessed to the life
and times of Jesus as they have known him through his actions and their own life
encounters. They have interpreted him through their Hebrew Bible and their own
encounters. I know that I do better studying scripture in a structured
environment. This study has joined a group of people in covenant learning,
prayer, and care for each other.
